Quick Connect is the new generation of refrigeration pipefitting designed for ductless mini-split and ducted unitary, single-family residential air conditioning systems.
After cutting, deburring and marking for proper depth, the refrigerant line installation requires just a few seconds to push into the fitting until the depth marking appears in the sight glass. Each Quick Connect fitting port consists of a patented factory-assembled tight-fitting double O-ring, protector, grip ring and an endcap—none of which needs to be addressed by the installer.
No special tools are required except for a reusable and inexpensive support kit that is sold separately, consisting of a pipe depth marking tool and five sizes of horseshoe-shaped release clips that disengage a connection within seconds.
Passed test conditions include long-term helium leak, vibration, burst pressure, tensile strength, reusability, salt spray, fatigue, chemical compatibility and six other reliability tests. Re: a service port size regulations Hi Thanks. I know all about A, and the problems occurred if you connect standard gauges etc.
I had a meeting yesterday with an American company and they use the same gauges for RC as for A. So they must have the same gauge port size.
They are thinking of selling in the UK. Hence the question. Re: a service port size regulations. Originally Posted by jpsmith1cm. Originally Posted by Quality. Originally Posted by chilliwilly. We have to carry seperate sets of gauges for the different gasses. Re: a service port size regulations Thanks all. Pretty much as I thought. But trying to get an exact answer from anyone is not easy. They make these governing bodies who you have to pay to be registered with and you get no straight answers, is that because they dont know and we are all wasting our money. I agree this trade should be regulated to stop the cowboys, but help the people who are trying to do everything correctly, with some better info.

The larger the size the more water volume delivered through the hose per minute. A garden hose connector attaches the hose to the spigot or a hose accessory such as a spray nozzle or wand.
The size of the connector depends on the size of the hose. To determine the size of your connector measure its inside diameter. Do this by laying a tape measure over the mouth of the connector and reading the measurement from the inside wall of one side of the connector to the opposite inside wall.
Don't measure to the outside of the wall, that diameter is larger. Diana K. Williams is a certified Master Gardener, has more than a decade of experience as an environmental scientist, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and environmental studies from the Ohio Northern University.

What you did carries me through all the lesser attempts by others who don't fully appreciate what customer service is! Thank you again! The idea behind AN hoses and AN fittings was to provide a flexible alternative to rigid tubing in plumbing systems on aircraft and military vehicles. AN hose sizes were designed to match the ID sizes of these rigid tubes.
Can you see the confusion starting? It sounds convoluted, but it really is a simple idea that achieves a logical goal. On top of that, different hose types have different wall thicknesses. That sytem would make it impossible to predict the hose size required for any application.
The AN numbers refer to the tubing OD in sixteenths of an inch. Note that this does not match AN Bolt Nomenclature.
AN Fitting and Hose Sizes
AN bolt sizes translate directly to bolt OD in sixteenths of an inch. To help differentiate between the two systems, convention has put the "AN" before the bolt size but after the plumbing size e.
When racers adopted AN plumbing, it soon became apparent that engineers in different industries did not work together much.
Automotive designers had their own standards and accepted sizes, and some of those were not found in aircraft systems. While a specification exists for 5AN hose and fittings, it is exceedingly rare in the aircraft industry.
What Size Is a Garden Hose Connector?
Even manufacturers specializing in AN-style fittings strictly for motorsports tend to skip over the 5AN size for the most part. As mentioned earlier, you can always identify AN fittings based on the male thread size outside diameter. These sizes are constant regardless of brand, hose type, or fitting configuration. If your fitting has a convex 37 degree flare at the end, the threads will tell you the AN size and vice-versa.
Tip: If you don't have a proper measuring tool handy, open-end wrenches make great "go-no go" gauges in a pinch! Note that we did not list the hex sizes. Hex sizes are not standardized. The hex size depends on the fitting type, the size of the threads on the other side of the fitting, and even the fitting brand. The only sure identifier is the thread size.Remember Me? R22 and A question Alright, probably a stupid question, but since I haven't actually seen anything in print I want to double check with you guys.
My gauge set is for A and R22 and a. I've been borrowing my boss's A gauges when a system like that comes up, but as A is going to be more and more common, i'd like to stop borrowing and stick with my own gear.
Now, I've always heard all heresay so far that since i've used my gauge set for R22, I can only use it for R Is this true? Or since its rated for both, can you use it for both if you want without issue?
It's fine if I can't, but if I can avoid buying another manifold and hose set that would be great. I've searched online and haven't come up with anything. Anyone got some links? Thanks in advance guys! Originally Posted by Eaallred.

My hoses are rated psi. Does this mean I can save myself a good chunk of change? I would think that your more likely to have contamination with two sets of hoses. Pretty useless for RA too.
